Phlebology 101: Introduction to Phlebology Course with Dr.Guillaume STALNIKIEWICZ

The course is suitable for:

Suitable for consultant surgeons wishing to enhance their venous surgical offering; surgical trainees who are already operating and wish to develop an interest in endovenous surgery.

Day 1: Understanding Venous Anatomy and Physiology

  1. Morning Session 
    • Introduction to Phlebology and its Importance in Modern Medicine
    • Overview of Venous Anatomy
    • Physiology of Venous Circulation
  1. Afternoon Session 
    • Common Venous Disorders: Varicose Veins, Spider Veins, and Chronic Venous Insufficiency
    • Diagnostic Techniques in Phlebology
    • Hands-on Session: Ultrasonography for Venous Assessment

Day 2: Interventional Techniques in Phlebology

  1. Morning Session 
    • Introduction to Minimally Invasive Venous Interventions
    • Sclerotherapy: Techniques and Applications
    • Ambulatory Phlebectomy
  1. Afternoon Session
    • Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
    • Complications and Management in Phlebology Procedures
    • Case Studies and Interactive Discussions

Language Support and Practical Sessions:

  • Bilingual Instruction: The course will be conducted in both French and English to ensure effective communication and understanding.
  • Practical Demonstrations: Live demonstrations of venous procedures and interventions, allowing participants to observe and ask questions.

Certification and Evaluation:

  • Participants will be evaluated through quizzes and case-based discussions.
  • A certificate of completion from The College of Phlebology will be provided at the end of the course.
