Professor Mark Whiteley is the founder and chairman of The College of Phlebology and the head of Academic Evaluation Committee, renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to the field of venous surgery. As the founder of The Whiteley Clinic and The Whiteley Protocol®, he has revolutionized the approach to varicose vein treatments, specializing in advanced walk-in, walk-out procedures. With a distinguished career as a Consultant Venous Surgeon and Consultant Phlebologist, Professor Whiteley’s commitment to excellence and his unwavering dedication to providing the best possible care for his patients have earned him international recognition.
After completing his training at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, Professor Mark Whiteley served as a lecturer in surgery at Oxford University from 1995 to 1998 before being appointed Consultant Venous Surgeon. Notably, he performed the first endovenous “keyhole” surgery for varicose veins in the UK, marking a significant milestone in the field. His pioneering spirit continued with the first Microwave Varicose Veins Ablation in Europe, further establishing him as a leading figure in venous surgery. Under his leadership, The Whiteley Clinic has become a renowned center for vein treatments, offering the highest standard of care to patients. Professor Whiteley’s commitment to research and education has led to numerous accolades, and his courses on thread vein and varicose vein treatments at The College of Phlebology provide invaluable knowledge and training to fellow professionals.
